Mahindra registered total passenger vehicle sales of 58,021 units in May 2026, recording a growth of 10.66% over 52,431 units sold in May 2025. The company added 5,590 units year-on-year, with strong contributions from Scorpio, XUV 7XO and its growing electric vehicle portfolio. Compared to April 2026, Mahindra sales also improved by 3.0%, gaining 1,690 units from 56,331 units. The performance highlights continued demand for Mahindra’s SUV lineup despite increasing competition across segments.
Mahindra Sales Breakup May 2026
Mahindra’s Scorpio and Scorpio N remained the brand’s top-selling models in May 2026, recording combined sales of 15,774 units, up 9.53% year-on-year from 14,401 units in May 2025. Together, they contributed 27.19% of the company’s total monthly sales.

Thar and Thar Roxx ranked second in Mahindra’s lineup with combined sales of 10,787 units in May 2026, up 3.83% from 10,389 units a year earlier. The SUV duo accounted for 18.59% of the company’s total sales. Meanwhile, the XUV 7XO continued its strong run, posting sales of 9,338 units, a 45.11% YoY increase from 6,435 units in May 2025. Adding nearly 2,900 units year-on-year, it emerged as Mahindra’s fastest-growing high-volume ICE model and contributed 16.09% of total sales.
Bolero Holds Steady, XUV 3XO Faces Pressure
Bolero sales remained stable in May 2026 at 8,933 units, slightly down from 8,942 units a year ago, while still contributing 15.40% of Mahindra’s total sales. Meanwhile, XUV 3XO and XUV 3XO EV recorded combined sales of 6,717 units, marking a 15.53% YoY decline from 7,952 units. The compact SUV duo lost over 1,200 units compared to last year, making it one of Mahindra’s few models to post a significant sales drop.

Electric SUV Portfolio Sales Grow
Mahindra sold 6,343 electric vehicles in May 2026, with the XEV 9S leading the lineup at 3,502 units. The model contributed more than half of the company’s EV sales and ranked as Mahindra’s sixth best-selling vehicle overall. The XEV 9e recorded 1,939 units, while the BE 6 added 902 units, highlighting strong demand for Mahindra’s born-electric SUV range. In contrast, XUV400 sales remained weak at 129 units, down 55.05% year-on-year from 287 units.

Month-on-Month Performance
Compared to April 2026, Scorpio sales rose by 7.17%, while Thar improved by 3.14%. XUV 7XO gained 8.20% month-on-month, reflecting sustained demand after its launch. Among EVs, XEV 9e posted the strongest monthly growth of 20.36%, while XEV 9S increased by 8.02%. BE 6, however, declined by 22.91% compared to April.
Overall, Mahindra’s May 2026 performance was driven by continued strength of Scorpio, Thar and XUV 7XO, while its electric SUV portfolio maintained steady growth. With Sierra and additional EV launches expected to further intensify competition in the coming months, Mahindra remains one of the strongest players in India’s SUV market.
