Hyundai, India’s second-largest carmaker, is gearing up to regain market share with an ambitious product strategy. The company plans to launch around 26 new models by 2030, including several new SUVs. Here’s a look at six upcoming Hyundai SUVs expected to arrive in India soon.
Sub-4-Metre EV
The first model on this list is an electric SUV that has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. Currently known by its internal codename, He1i, it is a sub-4-metre electric SUV. The EV will rival models such as the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
Hyundai’s upcoming EV will be its first dedicated, highly localised electric vehicle for India. Built on the E-GMP(K) platform, it is expected to offer premium features such as Level 2 ADAS and come with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options. Both variants are likely to deliver a range of over 300 km, with a launch expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
Bayon-Based SUV
The next SUV on this list is the Bayon-based model, which will be positioned between the Venue and the Creta. Currently known by the codename BC4i, the SUV has already been spotted testing and is expected to be launched later this year.
The upcoming Hyundai SUV is expected to feature a premium design inspired by the Venue and Creta, while being positioned above the Venue in the lineup. Based on the Bayon platform, it is likely to get a more rugged, boxy styling for India. Powering the SUV will be a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, developed specifically for the Indian market, which will also be hybrid-ready for future Hyundai models.
Next-Generation Hyundai Creta
The next-generation Creta is currently undergoing road tests in India. It is based on the K3 platform and will be larger than the outgoing model. The SUV will receive a completely new exterior and interior design.
The next-generation Creta is expected to be among Hyundai’s first models to offer a strong-hybrid powertrain. Alongside the existing petrol and diesel engine options, the new hybrid setup could eventually replace the diesel engine. Hyundai is likely to unveil the SUV globally by late 2026, with its market launch expected in 2027.
New Hyundai Alcazar
As mentioned earlier, the next-generation Hyundai Creta will be offered with a new hybrid petrol powertrain. The same powertrain is expected to make its way into other Hyundai models as well, and the Alcazar is likely to be one of them.
Hyundai Ni1i
Hyundai is also working on a new seven-seater SUV that will be positioned above the Alcazar and is expected to replace the Tucson in the Indian market. This all-new SUV is currently known by its internal codename, Ni1i.
It will be a premium SUV that rivals models such as the Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Tata Safari. The Ni1i is also expected to be offered with Hyundai’s new 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. Production of this SUV is likely to take place at Hyundai’s Talegaon manufacturing facility.
Hyundai Palisade
Hyundai will once again try its luck in the premium and luxury SUV segment. This time, it will be the Palisade that takes on rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner.
The Palisade will serve as Hyundai’s flagship SUV and is expected to be offered with a 2.5-litre hybrid petrol powertrain. The engine and electric motor combined are expected to generate 329 bhp and 459 Nm of torque.
As mentioned above, this will be a luxury SUV from Hyundai and will come equipped with the premium features and technology that buyers would expect from a vehicle in this segment.
