All About Paint
Spectraflair Paint Debuts on a One-Off Continental GT S
To mark the opening of its new Paint Shop, Bentley unveiled a unique Continental GT S. The special model features a striking new finish called Spectraflair. This exclusive paint showcases the advanced techniques and technologies now available at the facility. As a result, Bentley can offer even more innovative and eye-catching finishes. The new Paint Shop is also an impressive landmark. In fact, it is the tallest building within the Bentley complex and spans more than 12,500 square meters, or roughly three acres.
New Paint Shop Supports Bentley’s Future Vision
According to Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s Board Member for Manufacturing, the new Paint Shop will play a key role in the brand’s future. The facility will help Bentley maintain its leadership in paint quality for years to come. Moreover, it will support the development of more bespoke and premium finishes. Recent innovations include Ombré and satin paint options. As a result, customers can enjoy a wider range of personalized choices across Bentley’s lineup. To improve efficiency, the company has also divided the facility into two operational floors. This layout helps streamline the entire painting process and enhance production quality.

Advanced Energy Systems Improve Efficiency
Bentley has equipped its new Paint Shop with advanced thermal and energy management systems. These technologies help maintain cooler and more comfortable working conditions for employees on the ground floor. In addition, the systems capture warm air produced by the high-tech paint equipment on the upper floor. The facility then redistributes that heat throughout the building. As a result, energy use is reduced significantly. In fact, the Paint Shop requires little to no heating for nearly two-thirds of the year.

To move the car bodies around, Bentley is introducing a fleet of 10 Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), making it the first automotive paint shop to use self-propelled carriers.
The new Spectraflair color is a take on their existing Verdant hue, featuring a stunning spectrum of colors that sparkle through the Verdant hue under natural lighting. It will be available through the By Mulliner bespoke program.

At the moment, the Continental GT and GTC, Flying Spur, and the brand’s first-ever Electric Vehicle, launching later this year, will be immediately painted at the new facility. The Benteyga will be integrated into the operations over the coming years.
