The fairly new Chinese brand ZXMoto has been in the news for quite some time now, mainly for its new inline-four sportbike, the 500RR. The motorcycle has already been launched in Thailand for 199,900 baht (approximately Rs. 5.85 lakh), while it is also set to reach dealerships in the UK next month. ZXMoto was established in 2024, and it made its biggest public appearance last year at the EICMA show in Milan in November.

The biggest highlight of the ZXMoto 500RR is undoubtedly its engine. The sportbike is powered by a 470cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve inline-four-cylinder engine with a high 12.9:1 compression ratio and Bosch electronic fuel injection. This high-revving motor produces an impressive 84bhp at 13,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 11,500rpm, promising strong performance throughout the rev range.

ZXMoto claims the 500RR can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.4 seconds, making it a seriously quick motorcycle for its segment. The bike is also claimed to achieve a top speed of more than 235kmph, further highlighting its focus on outright performance. With its compact inline-four engine, high-revving character and aggressive performance figures, the 500RR is positioned as an exciting option for riders looking for a proper supersport experience.

Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox, wet multi-plate slipper clutch and chain final drive. A ram-air intake system is used to improve performance at higher speeds. The 500RR gets a six-axis IMU that enables cornering ABS and traction control. Riders can choose from four riding modes – Sport, Street, Beginner and Custom – with information displayed on a TFT-LCD instrument cluster.

The ZXMoto 500RR gets a premium hardware package that complements its sporty character, including a distinctive single-sided swingarm and a steering damper offered as standard for improved stability at higher speeds. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm upside-down front forks with adjustable preload and rebound damping, paired with an adjustable rear monoshock that allows riders to fine-tune the setup to suit different riding conditions. Braking performance comes from twin 300mm front discs with four-piston Taisko callipers, while a single rear disc handles braking at the back. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard, adding an extra layer of safety and confidence during hard braking and on slippery surfaces.
